Tinubu Vows ‘No Fear’ As He Deploys Security Chiefs To Maiduguri After Bombings

According to Ireporter Online, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed profound sorrow over the recent terrorist attacks in Maiduguri, describing the incidents as deeply painful while assuring residents of Borno State that the Federal Government will strengthen efforts to defeat insurgents.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President extended condolences to families who lost loved ones and wished those injured a swift recovery.

“The recent news from Maiduguri, Borno State, is profoundly upsetting. I mourn those who lost their lives, sympathise with the injured and stand in solidarity with the people of Borno during this challenging time,” Tinubu said.

He characterized the attacks as the “final desperate and frantic attempts” by terrorists under increasing pressure from Nigerian security forces. He stressed that the government would intensify operations against all criminal and terrorist groups across the country.

Tinubu commended the courage and fighting spirit of Nigeria’s armed forces and security agencies for successfully repelling coordinated attacks on military positions. He described Monday’s attacks as “desperate acts of evil-minded terrorist groups” and affirmed that military and civilian task forces would continue to confront and neutralize these threats.

As part of immediate measures, the President announced that he had ordered security chiefs to relocate to Maiduguri to coordinate operations on the ground. He also approved additional operational support and equipment for security agencies during a recent meeting to strengthen the fight against insurgency.

Furthermore, Tinubu directed emergency management agencies to provide urgent medical care and assistance to those injured in the attacks. Reaffirming the government’s resolve, he declared that Nigeria would track down and defeat those responsible, insisting that the nation would not bow to intimidation from violent groups.

“Nigeria will not succumb to fear,” the President added.
