Tinubu’s Bold Move: HYREP Governing Council And Board Of Trustees Reshuffled

According to a statement by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga on Monday, the president also named Loanyie Barituka Victor, representing non-governmental organizations focused on the environment, alongside Bright Onyebuchi Jacob and Henry Obiabure, who represent the Niger Delta communities, iReporter Online reports.

Furthermore, Professor Barinedum Michael Nwibere and Barrister Baride Abdul Gwezia will represent the Ogoni Community on the newly constituted Council. The nine oil-producing states have representation through Gideon Onyebuwa Melfor and Dr. Ibikunle Omotehinse.

According to iReporter Online, four alternate members have also been appointed to the Council, representing Ogoniland and the Niger Delta.

Rev. Canon Dr. Abraham Olungwe, who was reappointed, and Engr. Maeba Power Ekpobari represent Ogoniland, while Joseph Akedesuo and Beauty Warejuowei represent the Niger Delta.

On the Board of Trustees, Tinubu reappointed Emmanuel Nwiika Deeyah as chairman. Fred Mbombo Igwe and Dr. Fred Barivule Kpakol represent the Ogoni communities and stakeholders, Mrs. Dorcas Amos stands for other Niger Delta communities, and Chief Jide Damazio, also reappointed, represents NGOs addressing environmental issues.
