Tinubu’s Critics Have No Plan for Nigeria, Says Aiyedatiwa

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has dismissed the ongoing efforts by some political actors to form a coalition aimed at removing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from power, describing such ambitions as unrealistic.

Speaking in Akure on Monday during the official reception of Hon. Dayo Awude — a former Labour Party deputy governorship candidate — and members of his Sunshine Grassroots Network into the All Progressives Congress (APC), the governor stated that the coalition lacks any credible blueprint to govern Nigeria.

Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed that Ondo State remains steadfastly aligned with the APC, stressing that there is no space for any form of coalition politics in the state. According to him, political parties may attract members for different reasons, but the overriding objective of the APC is to maintain political dominance.

“In Ondo State, there is no room for any coalition. It is one APC. The party’s interest must always come first, and for us, that interest is to retain power,” he asserted.

Commending the defectors for what he termed a timely and strategic decision ahead of the 2027 general elections, the governor urged them to begin immediate grassroots mobilisation to further consolidate the party’s influence at both state and federal levels.

He assured the new members that their contributions would be appreciated and rewarded, while lauding the visible achievements of President Tinubu’s administration and his own governance in Ondo State as proof of APC’s commitment to development.
