In his address, Tinubu underscored the significance of collaboration between Ghana and Nigeria, describing Mahama’s leadership as the dawn of a prosperous era. He expressed his firm belief in the new leadership’s potential to drive mutual progress for both nations.

The ceremony, which attracted prominent leaders from across Africa and the globe, celebrated a peaceful transition of power in Ghana, a country well-regarded for its democratic stability.

Tinubu, while speaking at the event, stated, “Even in times of disagreement, peaceful dialogue must be our path forward. Mahama is a leader with vision, a patriot through and through. We have a deep friendship, and my dear brother, I am here to support you. You can always count on Nigeria, and we will work together to create prosperity for our nations.”

He continued, “Today, I stand here not just as Nigeria’s President but as a fellow African committed to supporting Ghana and its people. This moment is one of pride and honor, not just for Ghanaians, but for the entire continent and its diaspora.”

Tinubu also reflected on the symbolism of the occasion, likening it to a “black star” rising over Ghana, spreading hope, unity, and compassion throughout Africa.

Addressing critics of Africa, Tinubu remarked, “The election of Mahama and other Ghanaian leaders demonstrates that West Africa can achieve democratic success. It’s time for our critics to acknowledge the strides made by nations like ours. We must stop seeking validation from outsiders and focus on lifting our nations from poverty and building resilient economies for our people.”
