Speaking at the inauguration of the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Abuja on Monday, the First Lady highlighted the potential of these initiatives to uplift all Nigerians, with a particular emphasis on women.

Represented by Mrs. Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, the Mandate Secretary for Women Affairs in the Federal Capital Territory, Tinubu expressed optimism about the improving economic situation in the country, thanks to the Renewed Hope Agenda’s array of initiatives offering relief and humanitarian aid to various segments of society, including the elderly, women, communities, and the girl-child.

Tinubu urged women to serve as exemplary figures and unite in championing women’s causes nationwide. She emphasized the pivotal role of women as healers, advocating for unity and a focus on promoting equity, equal rights, and righteousness to address national challenges.

Dr. Elizabeth Akinadewo, the National Chairperson of WOWICAN, pledged to prioritize women’s empowerment during her tenure, aiming to provide support to the oppressed, uplift the downtrodden, amplify the voices of the marginalized, and equip women with essential skills for independence and sustainability.

Rev. Emmanuel Ozumba, the National Director for Education, Youth, and Women Development of CAN, underscored the indispensable role of women as nation builders and prayed for divine guidance and wisdom for the new leadership of WOWICAN.
