According to Ireporter Online, the Dollar to Naira exchange rate in Nigeria’s parallel market, commonly known as the black market or Aboki FX, continues to show significant activity. On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, sources at Bureau De Change (BDC) reported that traders in Lagos sold a dollar for ₦1,490 while buying it at ₦1,480.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognize the parallel market and has directed individuals seeking foreign exchange to conduct transactions through licensed banks. Meanwhile, the CBN’s official exchange rates remain lower, with the highest rate recorded at ₦1,415 and the lowest at ₦1,400.

Experts note that rates in the black market can fluctuate throughout the day, and individuals may encounter different prices when buying or selling dollars.
