The Dollar to Naira exchange rate at the parallel market, commonly referred to as the black market or Aboki FX, remained a key point of interest for forex traders and businesses on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

According to market information obtained by Ireporter Online, Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in Lagos exchanged the United States dollar at a selling rate of ₦1,401 and a buying rate of ₦1,392.

The latest figures indicate that individuals seeking to purchase dollars from the parallel market were required to pay ₦1,401 per dollar, while those selling the currency received ₦1,392.

Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has continued to distance itself from transactions carried out in the parallel market, maintaining that it does not recognize the unofficial forex segment. The apex bank has consistently advised individuals and businesses seeking foreign exchange to access the official market through authorized financial institutions.

At the official market, the CBN recorded the Dollar to Naira exchange rate with a highest rate of ₦1,361 and a lowest rate of ₦1,357.

Market observers also noted that forex rates may vary across locations and dealers, meaning the actual buying or selling price could differ from the prevailing figures depending on demand and supply conditions.
