Top 20 Most Expensive Premier League Transfers Of The 2026 Summer Window

Premier League clubs have set a new all-time record for summer transfer spending after splashing an estimated £3.5 billion during a dramatic window that witnessed several blockbuster moves involving clubs across England, Europe and Saudi Arabia.

The biggest transfer of the summer saw Manchester City complete a £125 million deal for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez on deadline day. The 25-year-old Argentina international became the fifth-most expensive player in football history, matching the fee Liverpool paid for Alexander Isak in the previous summer window.

Chelsea were also involved in another major transfer after securing the signing of England midfielder Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for £117 million. The 23-year-old reportedly agreed a six-year contract with Xabi Alonso’s side after an impressive campaign in which he scored 10 goals and registered six assists in 37 Premier League appearances.

Manchester City continued their spending spree by paying £116 million for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson. The England international featured in all 38 Premier League matches for Forest last season before completing his move to the Etihad Stadium.

Real Madrid spent £115.7 million to bring highly-rated Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande to Spain from RB Leipzig. The 19-year-old reportedly attracted interest from Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain after recording 12 goals and eight assists during the previous campaign.

Liverpool also made a statement signing by paying £106 million for France forward Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain. The deal could reportedly rise to £123 million if the agreed performance-related add-ons are triggered.

Tottenham Hotspur were among the other leading spenders, completing a £92.5 million deal for Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali, with the transfer potentially reaching £100 million. Spurs had earlier set a new club transfer record by signing Portugal midfielder Mateus Fernandes from West Ham for £85 million.

Manchester City’s aggressive recruitment continued with the £81.4 million acquisition of 18-year-old Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille. The deal includes a further £4.2 million in possible add-ons.

Arsenal strengthened their squad by spending £75 million on Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, while Tottenham paid the same amount to sign Brazilian winger Savinho from Manchester City.

Manchester United invested £70 million in Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, while Barcelona completed a £69.3 million move for Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon.

City also sanctioned the departure of Rodri, with Barcelona paying £65 million for the Spain captain. Rodri had played a significant role in Manchester City’s success in recent seasons.

AC Milan paid £60.2 million to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Ramos, while Manchester City brought Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye to the Etihad for £60 million, with the transfer potentially rising to £65 million.

Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal paid £55 million for West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville, while Liverpool spent the same amount to sign Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet.

Three other transfers were completed at £52 million each. Tottenham signed Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke, Chelsea brought in Crystal Palace centre-back Maxence Lacroix, while Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders completed a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Qadsiah.
