Top PDP Presidential Campaign Council Member, Others Defect To APC

Dr. Hamza Abubakar Haruna, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential campaign council, has been welcomed into the All Progressives Congress, APC, fold by Zamfara State Governor, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle.

This was contained in a press statement signed and issued to journalists in Gusau, the state capital, by Governor Matawalle’s press secretary, Comrade Jamilu Magaji.

Abubakar, who briefed journalists at the APC North West Zonal Office on Isah Kaita in Kaduna, in the company of vibrant and agile young political groups from the PDP, said his decision to join the APC is to support the north west campaign coordinator in earning the zone an overwhelming victory in the 2023 general elections.

He expressed confidence in Governor Bello Matawalle’s political maturity in uniting the party and strengthening the APC in the North West geopolitical zone.

The decampee stated that he rejoined the APC because the party will take the country to the next level, expressing hope that Governor Matawalle’s political strategy will remain indelible in the minds of the people of Zamfara and the North West in general.

He went on to say that he defected alongside a slew of political groups from the seven states of the North West geopolitical zone, the majority of whom were youths.

Governor Matawalle, who had earlier received Abubakar and his entourage at his residence, praised the politicians for their decision to support the APC and its Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He informed the defectors that Tinubu had mapped out strategic development plans to consolidate President Muhammadu Buhari’s existing reforms.
