Former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong and defender Ola Aina have voiced strong support for the Nigerian national team ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final against Morocco.

In messages shared on the official Super Eagles account on Wednesday, both players praised the team’s progress and urged unity, expressing confidence in Nigeria’s chances to reach the final.

Troost-Ekong, who captained Nigeria to the 2023 AFCON final, reflected on his pride in the squad and highlighted their growth throughout the tournament. He emphasized improvements in midfield balance and squad rotation, noting that these factors had strengthened the team with each match.

“The day has come, and I cannot express how excited I am to watch you face Morocco tonight. I’m extremely proud of what you are achieving,” Troost-Ekong said. He encouraged the players to cherish the semi-final experience, stressing that victory could open the path to lifting the trophy.
