Two Robbery Suspects Arrested With 23 Mobile Phones (Photo)
The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested two suspects specialised in dealing in stolen mobile phones.
The suspects were allegedly in possession of twenty-three (23) stolen android mobile phones.
A statement by SP Asinim Butswat, the state Police Public Relations Officer, said the suspects – Yusuf Abubakar ‘m’ 51 years old and Lawali Aliyu ‘m’ 40 years old – were arrested by SWAT Operatives, at Akenfa, Yenagoa on March 14, 2021, at about 1400 hours, while conveying the phones to Kano State, in a Toyota Hiace bus with registration No. DUT 37 ZB.
He said the state police commissioner, Mike Okoli, has called on members of the public whose phones were stolen recently to contact the police command for possible identification and recovery.
Meanwhile, an investigation is ongoing to unravel the source of the stolen android phones.
