Umahi’s Son Joins Race For APC Chairmanship In Ebonyi

According to Ireporter Online, Osbourne Umahi, the first son of Minister of Works David Umahi, officially picked the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship nomination and expression of interest form for Ohaozara Local Government Area in Ebonyi State on Friday.

Umahi was welcomed at the party’s state secretariat in Abakaliki by a large crowd of supporters and received by members of the party’s state executive council, led by Chairman Stanley Okoro-Emegha. Okoro-Emegha praised Umahi as an intelligent and capable young politician and businessman, emphasizing his potential to advance development in the local government area.

Speaking to reporters, Umahi expressed gratitude to the people of Ohaozara for endorsing his candidacy and vowed to uphold the confidence placed in him. He stated that youth empowerment would be the central focus of his administration, recognizing young people as key drivers of development. Umahi also committed to continuing his father’s legacy of infrastructure development across the local government area.

The APC is scheduled to hold its local government primaries on January 25. If successful, Umahi will compete in the local government elections against candidates from other parties in August.
