Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen is on the verge of etching his name into Galatasaray’s rich football history as the Turkish champions gear up to face Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League encounter.

According to Ireporter Online, Osimhen is just one goal away from becoming the first Galatasaray player to score in seven consecutive European matches — a record currently shared with former striker Burak Yilmaz, who achieved the feat in 2012.

The Nigerian striker equalled Yilmaz’s record last month after his decisive goal sealed a 1-0 victory for Galatasaray against Liverpool. Now, all eyes are on Rams Park, where Osimhen will look to make history by surpassing the long-standing milestone.

Osimhen, who came off the bench in Galatasaray’s 2-1 weekend win over Istanbul Basaksehir, is expected to return to the starting lineup under coach Okan Buruk for the crucial midweek tie.

Since his arrival in Istanbul, the 26-year-old has made seven appearances in all competitions, netting three goals. His powerful displays and consistent form have quickly earned him hero status among Galatasaray supporters.

A goal against Bodo/Glimt would not only bolster the Turkish giants’ Champions League ambitions but also immortalize Osimhen as a record-breaking striker in the club’s European history.
