A pro-Buhari group, #istandwithbuhari, has vowed to resist any attempt by individuals, groups or institution that attempts to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari or bring down his administration.

The group made the vow while addressing a press conference “in condemnation of politicisation and sabotage of government efforts to curb insecurity in Nigeria, and the sponsored violent campaigns by individuals/pressure groups to bring down President Muhammadu Buhari administration and instigate ethnic war in Nigeria.”

Coordinator of the group, Nonso Ezedimma, while reading the text of the briefing, Thursday in Abuja,

said, “President Muhammadu Buhari means best for Nigeria, and is working to ensure all agents of darkness sponsoring our current insecurity situation are exposed and brought to book.”

He declared that, “President Buhari remains the mandate of 25 million Nigerians from every part of the country, and that anybody or institution that dares does anything either to try to impeach the President or bring down his administration will be violently resisted by 25 million Nigerians, including us targeting and isolating all those behind the sinister plot and dealing with them drastically.”

The coordinator decried the fact that “For some months now, all of us living both within our shores and in the Diaspora have been assaulted daily with news, graphic images and visual presentations of sponsored violent crimes across the country.

“These are championed specifically by various subversive interest groups to purposely destabilize and bring down the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and by extension create an atmosphere of panic, hate and division that will degenerate into an ethnic war.”

Ezedimma, while stressing that what was happening in the country was man-made, alleged that “…some disgraceful opportunists and vengeful individuals who had been exposed, disgraced and in some cases convicted of looting public funds, who see Nigeria’s treasury as their feeding bottle which had been taken away from their lips since 2015, are now applying all the resources they accumulated during their 16 years reign of zero-accountability to fight dirty.”

According to him, the group was in possession of classified information of plans by members of the opposition to further politicize the security situation.

“We also have a list of their names from state governors down to political influencers, youth organizations and clandestine organizations under their payroll through which they wish to unleash more terror in some volatile states, especially in the south. We have identified you all; we have your residential addresses down to your villages.

“We are therefore giving you until the end of the month to immediately disband your private militia groups and discontinue your sponsorship of banditry and terrorism in Nigeria.

“If you refuse to immediately arrest the situation in your respective areas by end of the month, we will not only expose your identities to the world but we will also embark on mass action against you in your respective locations starting from the end of the month,” he stated.

Speaking further he said, “It is important to state it here right now, categorically and without an iota of doubt or hesitancy this 6th day of May 2021, that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari cannot be subdued, threatened or terminated until he officially hands over power in 2023.

“Anybody or any group of persons, no matter who they are, who believe they can use terror, chaos and destruction to achieve their sinister agenda should know that they will have to deal with 25 million Nigerians who willingly, fanatically and emphatically voted President Buhari into the office and will rather die than see anything happen to him or his administration.”
