The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has declared full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, vowing to mobilize millions of young Nigerians across the country and in the diaspora to ensure his re-election.

According to Ireporter Online, the NYCN’s National President, Ambassador Sara-Igbe Sukubo, made this announcement in Abuja over the weekend, revealing that the Council has resolved to obtain the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential nomination form on behalf of President Tinubu. He emphasized that the decision followed two weeks of extensive consultations with youth representatives from all 36 states, the 774 local government areas, and the diaspora communities.

Sukubo stated that the endorsement reflects the collective aspirations of over 60 million Nigerian youths who believe in the continuity of Tinubu’s leadership. “After due consideration and a careful assessment of the nation’s progress under President Bola Tinubu, Nigerian youths have unanimously agreed to back his second-term bid in 2027. We hereby call on the President to officially declare his intention to contest,” he declared.

The NYCN President reaffirmed the Council’s readiness to mobilize massive grassroots support nationwide, calling on all state chapters, local government coordinators, and affiliate youth organizations to align with the resolution. He expressed confidence that youth mobilization efforts would secure between 40 to 60 million votes for President Tinubu in the next election.

While stressing that the NYCN remains a non-partisan organization, Sukubo explained that the Council’s decision was driven by a shared desire to protect the interests of Nigerian youths and consolidate on the gains achieved during Tinubu’s administration, particularly in youth empowerment, education, agriculture, digital innovation, and entrepreneurship.

He lauded the President’s consistent efforts toward youth inclusion and national development, noting that a second term would further strengthen opportunities for young Nigerians. Sukubo urged all youths, both at home and abroad, to unite in hope and determination to ensure the continuity of progress in 2027.
