According to Ireporter Online, popular Nigerian gospel singer Frank Edwards has recounted a humorous yet reflective experience from his early years in music, revealing how he once made a bold attempt to seek a woman’s daughter’s hand in marriage shortly after releasing his debut album. The singer disclosed that, at the time, he felt ready to settle down and gathered the courage to approach a woman to express his intention.

Frank Edwards explained that he initially believed his confidence during the conversation had impressed the woman, but he later realized her attention was guided by concern rather than admiration. Recalling the encounter, he said the woman suddenly spoke to him in Igbo: “BIA NNA INA ELIKWA AKWUKWO NNI ?? KEDU EBE MAMA GI NO??” which translates to asking whether he eats vegetables and where his mother is. He noted that the remark, though well-intentioned, instantly shifted the mood of the conversation and left him deeply embarrassed, describing the feeling as though “cold water was poured on him.”

The gospel artist added that the experience taught him a memorable lesson about timing and maturity in life decisions.
