During a visit to the NYSC orientation camp in Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area, the Director of Corps Welfare and Health Services, Omotade Ayodele, stressed that entrepreneurship offers a more sustainable route to wealth and job security.

“SAED is your ticket to financial independence,” Ayodele stated. “It will be disappointing if you leave this camp without acquiring a skill that can change your life. Depending only on white-collar jobs won’t make you rich—you must explore entrepreneurial opportunities.”

Corps Members Advised on Security, Discipline, and Relocation

Ayodele also encouraged corps members to fully embrace the camp experience, describing it as a disciplined and patriotic environment for personal growth.

Addressing concerns about relocation, he advised against manipulating postings, urging corps members to accept their assignments as part of their destiny.

“You may have been posted to Benue for a reason. Give your best wherever you are sent because what is worth doing is worth doing well,” he advised.

On security, he warned corps members to stay vigilant, respect local traditions, and avoid late-night travel, reminding them of the NYSC safety policy.

As part of his visit, Ayodele rewarded outstanding corps members and groups, including the Quarter Guards, Man ‘O’ War Special Squad, Camp Band, Red Cross Society, OBS Crew, Platoon Leaders, and the Bugler. He also donated towards the upcoming Platoon Carnival, ensuring all 10 platoons benefit from the contribution.

Earlier, NYSC State Coordinator Veronica Garba reported that corps members had adapted well to camp life, with 1,925 corps members registered—1,022 females and 903 males.
