Wike Orders Immediate Return Of FCT Education Secretary And IRS Acting Chairman

According to Ireporter Online, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate reinstatement of two senior officials previously suspended from their positions.

Dr. Danlami Hayyo, the FCT Mandate Secretary for Education, and Mr. Michael Ango, Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), have been directed to resume their duties with immediate effect. The directive was confirmed in a statement released Wednesday in Abuja by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Public Communication and Social Media.

Alongside the reinstatement, Wike issued a stern warning emphasizing the need for discipline among officials within the FCT Administration.

Dr. Hayyo was suspended on November 25 after issuing a circular instructing schools to close early due to security concerns, while Mr. Ango was suspended on December 5, with no official explanation provided at the time.
