Wike Unmasks Secondus Hypocrisy

At a recent PDP event in Rivers State, Wike explained that his actions were motivated by Secondus’ opposition to Siminalayi Fubara’s 2023 gubernatorial aspirations.

Wike stated that Secondus had advocated for his cousin, Tele Ikuru, to receive the PDP nomination for governor—an initiative Wike was unable to support. He identified this as the main reason behind his push for Secondus’ removal from the party leadership.

As tensions continue between him and Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Wike accused both Secondus and former Rivers Governor Celestine Omehia of hypocrisy. He claimed they only began supporting Fubara once they found personal advantages in the situation.

Once a close ally of Fubara, Wike asserted that Secondus and Omehia were actually the true adversaries of the governor, not him. He criticized their behavior, suggesting their apparent loyalty to Fubara was disingenuous.

“I recently heard Secondus in Bori say that I funded the Bori Internal Road as governor. I contributed 50% with the expectation that we would have a governor who would continue these projects,” Wike remarked.

He added, “Secondus claims his enemies are the governor’s enemies. But who are the governor’s real enemies? It’s Secondus, who opposed his rise to governorship and wanted his cousin, Tele Ikuru, to take the position instead.

“I initiated Secondus’ removal as PDP National Chairman when he sought to impose his cousin as governor. Yet now he pretends to be a friend of the governor while branding me the enemy. To God be the glory,” Wike concluded.
