Will Amaechi and Imoke Unite or Divide the Opposition Ahead of 2027 Elections?

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun East Senatorial District have thrown their support behind President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ademola Adeleke as their preferred candidates for the upcoming presidential and governorship elections.

This endorsement was made public in a statement by the district’s senatorial leader, Akindele Famuyide (Jagu), after their monthly meeting held on Thursday, May 22.

According to reports, the PDP leaders also firmly stated that “there is no vacancy” at the Aso Rock Villa.

Famuyide emphasized that both President Tinubu and Governor Adeleke have shown outstanding and consistent leadership since taking office.

The statement read:
“PDP stakeholders in Osun East unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke for re-election in 2027 and 2026, respectively. We commend the President’s groundbreaking infrastructure initiatives and pragmatic economic reforms, which are already producing noticeable results—especially the drop in food prices and enhanced national security.”

Famuyide urged the President to maintain his momentum in driving national progress.

He further stressed that the endorsement is more than a symbolic gesture.

“It represents a sincere vote of confidence and satisfaction with the performance of President Tinubu and Governor Adeleke in delivering democratic dividends.

“There is no internal dissent—the Osun East PDP stands firmly and united in this significant endorsement,” the statement concluded.
