A senior leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has challenged assertions that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is assured of victory in the 2027 presidential election. According to political analysts cited by Ireporter Online, Galadima emphasized that the race remains highly competitive.

In an interview on February 4, 2026, Galadima, a close ally of former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, argued that controlling several states does not guarantee success at the national level. He urged Nigerians and the media not to assume that the ruling party has already secured the next election.

Galadima also criticized President Bola Tinubu, accusing him of acting beyond the law and raising concerns about the exercise of executive power. He stressed that no leader should be considered above challenge and underscored the importance of Nigeria’s democracy operating within legal boundaries.

Highlighting the role of the judiciary, Galadima insisted that courts must function independently, free from political interference. “The strength of democracy depends on fair rulings and respect for the rule of law,” he said.

Addressing the state of opposition parties, Galadima rejected claims that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is weak or finished. He expressed confidence that the PDP could regain strength and win the presidency if it fields a suitable candidate. He further warned against any attempts to manipulate the electoral process, vowing resistance to such actions.

Galadima concluded by predicting significant shifts in Nigeria’s political landscape as the 2027 elections approach. He declared: “Go and write it down that I said it. Is Tinubu God? Go and write it down that I say the PDP will win the next presidential election because it can bounce back with the right candidate.”
