Wumi Toriola Kneels In Public As She Begs Afeez Owo For Forgiveness

According to Ireporter Online, Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has made peace with veteran filmmaker Afeez Owo after their recent clash on social media. The reconciliation comes months after their public disagreement, which began when Afeez commented on Wumi’s personality during an appearance on the African A-List podcast.

During the interview, Afeez described the actress’s movie roles as closely aligned with her real-life temperament, suggesting that she often operated comfortably in confrontational situations. He explained that she usually reacts only when pushed beyond her limits.

Wumi responded strongly to the comments, criticising the filmmaker in a post shared on Instagram. She questioned why personal disputes were being brought onto podcasts and dismissed the interview as unnecessary and disrespectful. In her reaction, she insisted that she only speaks up when provoked and maintained that she had always shown him respect despite disagreements.

The tension, however, was resolved on Wednesday evening at the movie premiere hosted by popular actor Odunlade Adekola. A viral video from the event captured the moment Wumi approached Afeez, went down on her knees, and apologised. She pleaded, “I’m sorry, sir. Please forgive me.” Although Afeez initially attempted to walk away, he eventually helped her up and embraced her, signalling an end to the misunderstanding.
