The Presidency has strongly criticised former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, over remarks he made during a recent national television interview. According to Ireporter Online, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi, stated that El-Rufai acknowledged that someone had tapped the National Security Adviser’s (NSA) phone, allowing him to listen to private conversations.

Tinubu Has Promised The Following People Key Political Appointments

Ajayi noted that during the interview on ARISE Television, El-Rufai admitted that the action was illegal. He warned that if security authorities were to detain El-Rufai to reveal the individual responsible for the phone tapping, the former governor would accuse President Bola Tinubu of tyranny and persecution. “El-Rufai admitted on national television that someone tapped the phone of the NSA for him to listen to his conversation. When the interviewer highlighted the illegality of the act, he agreed. By the time he is picked up to produce the person responsible, he would claim President Tinubu is a ‘tyrant’ and persecuting him,” Ajayi said.
