In a statement issued on Saturday by the governor’s spokesperson, Dauda Illiya, the approval was made on Friday, December 13, 2024.

The statement read: “Governor Zulum has directed that no Christians, Muslims, or others should feel excluded during the yuletide season, acknowledging the multi-inclusivity and social cohesion within the communities of Borno, particularly during this time.”

The governor’s early disbursement aligns with his commitment to promoting inclusivity and ensuring all residents are financially prepared to celebrate the festive season.

Additionally, the statement noted that the initiative aims to assist Christians and others in preparing for a joyful yuletide. “His Excellency, Professor Babagana Zulum, has once again ensured that December salary payments and pensions are credited in time, allowing Christians and other communities to prepare adequately for the season.”

The statement concluded with Zulum urging beneficiaries to pray for peace in Borno State and nationwide, while recognizing the positive effects of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on the lives of Borno’s citizens and beyond.
