Edo residents have commended the reconciliation between Gov.Godwin Obaseki and the APC national chairman, Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole.
On Monday, August 12th, Edo State Gov. Godwin Obaseki paid a surprise visit to Iyamho country home of Adams Oshiomhole in felicitation of the Eid-el-Kabir holidays. The visit was described by both Obaseki and Oshiomhole as a usual meeting between two brothers saying the media are the ones insinuating a feud between the duo.
Since the USUAL meeting, the internet has been abuzz with what they describe as a reconciliation between Oshiomhole and Obaseki.
Some residents, who spoke in Benin, expressed satisfaction and appreciation with the reconciliation.

Many of the respondents spoken to says the reconciliation would enable the Edo State Gov.Godwin Obaseki to focus more on his developmental strides currently witnessed in all the three senatorial zones of the State.
Appollinaris Akpejiori , a resident of the State says peace is a gateway to development.
“Peace is certainly the gateway to development and Progressive Governance. In working towards peace, we must ensure that justice prevails. Therefore, any reconciliation, without the assurance of a Second term for Obaseki, is an effort in futility’
Kate Adams-Onaghino said that the reconciliation is simply wisdom on display.
“They say Edo have wise men and women, I am beginning to take that in. This is the right way to do it my lovely Edo brothers. Power comes and go and remember, it is given by God. Well done. 👏👏👏”

APC house of representative member in the national assembly, Hon Dennis Idahosa said the acrimony between the two leaders of the APC in Edo, has been a disturbing one among several of their supporters while commending the efforts of the people behind the peace initiative.
He said these people saw the need to end the crisis because they know that it is only through an atmosphere of peace that development can take place in the state and also ensure the growth of the party.
In the words of Tunde Idemudia , “Woe betide anyone against peace in Edo State”
While many applauded the peace initiatives they were also of the opinion that the State Governor should thread with caution and remain focused and continue putting the State first.
Bisi Bayo another resident of the state has urged the Governor Obaseki to move forward and should not be distracted with whatever is going on.
“My candid advice to Gov.Obaseki is to move forward and he should not be distracted by whatever that is going on, he should complete the roads he has started and so many other projects because he’s coming back is very near and it is the good works that will speak for him. Amen ,My Governor i love you so much please do the needful don’t mind those sycophants voters are much better and greater than a lot of politicians that will not stand with you till the end ,please be very wise may the Almighty God continue to protect and guide you with more wisdom ,Amen” she ended with prayers for Obaseki.
Hon Oshio Kelly-Daniel who expressed his reservation with the reconciliation, however, wished the Governor well with caution .”This is what we want to see. I hope this will put an end to this unnecessary power play. All we need at this point is to join hands with the governor to ensure that the people get the dividends of democracy. One love but no man is a god!
Arc Comr Austin Edegba says he doesn’t trust the settlement and warned Obaseki to be careful.
“I don’t trust this settlement ….Obaseki please be careful”
