#Let’sSupportProgress: Obaseki’s Promises Fulfilled By Endurance Ihungbe Oboite

I am glad to be part of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s 2016 victory team! I’m happy GGO has not failed in fulfilling his promises to Edo people.

He did promised to do things differently from his predecessors (Those that preceded him as Governor) and he has not derailed from holding on to his plan and style which was to further and continue the Edo project plan that was conceptualised by the Economic and Strategy Team he headed for eight years while his predecessor (Adams Oshiomhole) held sway as Governor.

He did promised to put Edo First before any other interest and he has kept to it. Hence, the monmouring and gnashing of teeth by selfish individuals who felt their conduit for filtering away the people’s common wealth have been terminated. An action they see as betrayal of trust by Gov. Godwin Obaseki.

He did promised, to serve all of Edo people and not the interest of any individual whether godfather or godmother of which his predecessor (Comrd. Adams Oshiomhole) reaffirmed at all times while the campaign lasted. Has he kept to it? Yes he has!

He did promised, to govern through the party, by ensuring all appointments are nominated from the wards through to LGAs to the State Level in order to address the complains we encountered from party faithful at the ward levels while soliciting their support for his nomination to fly the party’s flag. Many of whom complained about the manner at which his predecessor (Comdr. Adams Oshiomhole) randomly made appointments without recourse and regard to the party at the grassroot. He promised to address the anomaly if voted to power. Did he keep to his words? Yes he did!

The party at ward and LGAs nominated his SAs, SSAs and Commissioners.

He did promised to ensure that the Agbede-Awain-Idegun road in Edo north will be his first road contract to be awarded and flagged off by his administration if voted to power as Governor which will ameliorate the sufferings of thousands of road users, farmers and inhabitants who ply the road daily but couldn’t use it due to its squalor and deadly state at that time. Did he keep to his words? Yes he did!

The road was not only done it was actually the first to be awarded and flagged off by his administration.

He did promised to give an accelerated attention to the construction of Ekpoma township roads to boost the economic vibrancy of Esan west. Did he keep to his words? Yes he did!

Before the coming of GGO, whenever it rains moving from point A to B in Ekpoma was an impossibility. But, the story today is different. The people of Ekpoma are saying Obilu… Mr. Governor for coming to our rescue!

He did promised to give attention to the very all important road in Iyekogba of Oredo LGA/ward 2. Leading from Airport road axis of Iyekogba all through Irhirhi-Ogumwenyi-Obazagbon to Sapele Road by the Bypass. Did he keep to this promise? Yes he did!

The communities on this axis of Oredo LGA are now wearing a new look, commercial life have sprang up on this axis there by providing jobs to numerous of Edo inhabitants.

He did promised to pay attention to access roads within the GRA which were all in a sorry state before his swearing in as governor and has made his party the APC lost elections serially within the GRA which was always a protest vote against government insensitivity to the plight of those that dwell within it. Did he keep to his promise? Yes he did!

There is nearly any road within the Old GRA and its extension that is not motorable at this wet season. He has further awarded contracts to construct drains all around the GRA, a project that will commence immediately the rains subsides.

He did promise…….
