Reps Member Dennis Idahosa Applauds Obaseki Oshiomhole Reconciliation, Commends Dangote, Oba Of Benin, Others

Hon. Dennis Idahosa, the lawmaker representing Ovia Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, has commended Aliko Dangote, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors forum, as well as the Oba of Benin, on their efforts at ensuring peaceful resolution of the dispute between Adams Oshiomhole and Gov. Godwin Obaseki.

Idahosa, who gave the commendation in a press statement by him and made available to newsmen in Benin on Wednesday, said the acrimony between the two leaders of the APC in Edo, have been a disturbing one among several of their supporters.

He said not only have it resulted into verbal insults between their supporters, even the ordinary citizens
of the state, and several Nigerians in general, have had their own share of experience from the fight.

The lawmaker however said with the Salah visit by the governor and the team to the APC national chairman home at Iyamho, he was hopeful that efforts of the Benin monarch, Dangote, and the governors forum of the party’s at resolving the issues was finally bearing dividend.

According to him, “I am very optimistic that efforts of these notable personalities and group to ensure peace reigns between these two notable individuals have come to stay.

“I must commend their efforts because, they have tried their best at restoring peace between this our leaders. Dangote, not been from Edo State, have seen the need to ensure peace between his friends. The APC governors forum also saw the need to resolve the lingering crisis by using the internal mechanism of the forum to address the matter,” he started

He said these people saw the need to end the crisis because they know that it is only through atmosphere of peace that development can take place in the state and also ensure the growth of the party.

“Ultimately, the direct beneficiary of this will be the ordinary citizens of the state. This account for why the majority of the people have been disturbed with the fight.

He, however, called on the peacemakers not to relent on their efforts, but to ensure that the move by both the governor and his predecessor at resolving the issues between them is permanent.
