The Igbo leader justified his demand by saying Igbos deserve to be appointed into Sanwo-Olu’s cabinet because of their contributions to the state.
Chief Ogbonna explained further that the Igbos played a major role in Sanwo-Olu’s emergence as Lagos State Governor, hence their effort deserves to be rewarded.
“That (cabinet appointment) is what we are expecting because after you work you also have to eat. We have worked and that is what we expect from him.”
Sanwo-Olu was however charged by the Igbo leader to fulfill all his campaign promises as is expected of a good Christian.
“I believe he is a wonderful man, a good Christian. We expect nothing less. As he begins his first term, I expect him to fulfil most of his campaign promises especially the promise he made about the road to Alaba International, Trade Fair and some areas in Apapa which are all some of the challenges affecting Igbo businesses which have been driving the economy of not just Lagos but Nigeria.”
