The first day of the auditions for the 2019 edition of Big Brother Nigeria has kicked off.
A few days ago, the organizers of the highly anticipated reality show Big Brother Naija announced the program for this year’s edition.
On Friday, February 1 2019, the show kicked off proceedings leading to its fourth year with the search of this year’s contestants.
The 2019 audition is holding simultaneously across 5 states across the country. [Lagos, Benin, Abuja, Warri and Enugu]
The Lagos audition which is free is taking place at the Podium Event Centre, Ikeja and has already witnessed a large turnout of interested participants, running into thousands line up at the venue with some arriving as at midnight.
The massive crowd attending the audition in Lagos have caused gridlocks in Aromire, Adeniyi Jones area of Lagos State.
Our correspondent gathered that the crowd started building up as early as midnight.
As at 4am on Friday, the number had tripled, stifling traffic around Ikeja, Ogba, Aromire and Adeniyi Jones.
The overwhelming crowd also saw women attempting to jump down the fence of the building in order to avoid the queue.
Commuters to Allen junction have been stranded at bus-stops.
Auditions will continue till Saturday across eight cities including Lagos, Abuja, Calabar, Enugu, Benin, Ibadan, Warri and Port Harcourt.
The 2018 edition of Big Brother Naija tagged ‘Double Wahala Edition’ was won by Miracle who defeated other finalists, Tobi, Alex, Nina and Cee-C to win the N45m cash prize and other juicy rewards.
