Four Nigerian Celebrities Named ‘UNICEF Champions’ (FULL LIST)
UNICEF Nigeria is pleased to announce the appointment of accomplished music producers, musicians, and film actors – Cobhams Asuquo, WAJE, Kate Henshaw, and Ali Nuhu – as UNICEF Champions for a duration of 12 months.
This esteemed group of champions will stand as influential voices amplifying the crucial matters concerning child rights in Nigeria.
Throughout the upcoming year, these champions will collaborate with UNICEF to elevate pressing issues related to children across various sectors, including health, education, nutrition, child protection, water sanitation, and hygiene.

Ms. Cristian Munduate, the UNICEF Representative in Nigeria, commended the dedication and unmatched impact of these champions.
“We are truly excited to partner with such influential figures in the entertainment industry – Cobhams, WAJE, Kate Henshaw, and Ali Nuhu. Their commitment and enthusiasm for children’s rights will undoubtedly heighten the urgency of the issues we work for daily,” she added.
“This collaboration signifies a connection between the commitment to child rights and the potency of art and storytelling. Through music, film, and public engagement, we aim to touch hearts, shift perspectives, and inspire action,” Munduate stated.
As UNICEF champions, Cobhams, WAJE, Kate Henshaw, and Ali Nuhu will participate in various initiatives and campaigns designed to uphold and advocate for every child’s right to survival, growth, development, and protection.
