PROFILE Of Tinubu’s New Ministerial Nominees
President Bola Tinubu has submitted three more names for ministerial consideration to the Senate on Tuesday, October 3.
The nominees are Dr. Jamila Bio, Balarebe Abbas, and Olawale Olawande. The Senate will now conduct the necessary screening and confirmation process for these candidates.

Here’s what you need to know about the nominees:
1. Dr Jamila Bio

Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim hails from Kwara State.
Her father, Ibrahim Bio, previously held the position of Minister of Sports during the Goodluck Jonathan administration.
At 37 years old, she is a medical professional, a politician, and an advocate for development.
Ibrahim previously held the role of National President of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Young Women Forum (PYW).
Additionally, she served as the Senior Special Assistant on Health Matters to the Governor of Kwara.
In her public role, she strongly supports the United Nations Global Goals (SDGs).
2. Balarebe Abbas

Balarebe Abbas, born on February 5, 1958 in Kachia, Kaduna State, received his education at Barewa College Zaria from 1964 to 1970. He obtained a B.Sc. in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
A seasoned educator, he has served as a lecturer in both Port Harcourt and Zaria. Additionally, he held the position of Special Assistant to the Minister of State for Education at the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja, from September 1999 to February 2001.
Furthermore, he served as Special Assistant to the Minister of State for Army in the Ministry of Defence, Abuja, from February 2001 to May 2003. He also assumed roles as Special Assistant to the President in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Chief of Staff to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, from July 2003 to July 2007. In 2015, he took on the role of Secretary to the Kaduna State Government.
3. Olawale Olawande

Olawale Olawande is a community development expert and a prominent youth leader within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He hails from Lagos, where he was born and raised.
His recent role was in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation, where he served from 2019 to 2023. Additionally, Olawale Olawande held the position of youth leader for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State.
