A resident had reportedly informed the victim about the forceful confiscation of his phone by an individual affiliated with the Aye group.

He further explained that, “What happened was that the victim brokered peace between the owner of the phone and the cult gang members. After the peace meeting the gang members promised to return the phone.

“Two days later, the cultists called the security man to come and collect the phone. He went and collected the phone and handed it over to its owner.

“However, the gang members fired a shot at the victim as he was living the area. Other members of the gang started matcheting him until they reduced his body to a hip of meat.”

The second fatality occurred in the Iyana-Era vicinity of Ijanikin, where a 28-year-old individual lost his life by the roadside.

When questioned about the incidents, Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, stated that he had no knowledge of the killings.
