In the Ijanikin area of Lagos State, a security guard stationed in Aiyetoro became one of the two individuals brutally murdered in a renewed conflict between rival cults.
Earlier, City & Crime had reported on escalating tension in the Ojo area after the killing of a cult leader named Shulee by members of a rival cult. The gruesome act included severing Shulee’s head and delivering it to his gang’s camp.
The recent wave of violence in Aiyetoro involved clashes between rival factions of the Aye and Eiye cults.

Among the victims was a security guard associated with one of the streets in Aiyetoro. The assailants lured him out of his residence before subjecting him to a fatal attack, resulting in the gruesome disfigurement of his body.
According to sources, the deceased had been attempting to mediate in a case involving the alleged theft of a phone, which reportedly implicated a member of the Aye cult.
A resident had reportedly informed the victim about the forceful confiscation of his phone by an individual affiliated with the Aye group.
He further explained that, “What happened was that the victim brokered peace between the owner of the phone and the cult gang members. After the peace meeting the gang members promised to return the phone.
“Two days later, the cultists called the security man to come and collect the phone. He went and collected the phone and handed it over to its owner.
“However, the gang members fired a shot at the victim as he was living the area. Other members of the gang started matcheting him until they reduced his body to a hip of meat.”
Reports indicate that the perpetrators departed the scene on two motorcycles without interference as onlookers fled upon witnessing the murder.
The second fatality occurred in the Iyana-Era vicinity of Ijanikin, where a 28-year-old individual lost his life by the roadside.
When questioned about the incidents, Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, stated that he had no knowledge of the killings.
