Community Leaders React To Reports Of Suing FG Over Kaduna Village Bombing

The community leaders of Tudun Biri village in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna have distanced themselves from a legal suit against the federal government over the tragic bombing that claimed the lives of over 100 persons in the area.

Reports had surfaced indicating that certain individuals had initiated legal proceedings against the federal government, seeking N33 billion in compensation on behalf of the community.

However, the village head of Ifira, Balarabe Garba, who led a delegation of affected villagers from Tudun Biri to the state governor, Uba Sani, on Wednesday, stated that they were not aware of any legal representation appointed to advocate for them.

He emphasized that they were content with the response received from both the state and federal governments since the incident occurred.

“We are not part of the legal suit instituted against the federal government. We are law-abiding citizens and will not allow ourselves to be used by anyone,” he said.

Reverend Musa Saidu emphasized that the community, comprising both Christians and Muslims, has coexisted harmoniously for years without any issues. As such, they are resolute in not permitting anyone to sow discord in the area.

Governor Uba Sani pledged to identify and apprehend those attempting to exploit the villagers’ names for personal gain or to foment trouble in the state.

He further stated that all donations received from the president and other high-ranking government officials would be entrusted to a committee to be formed subsequently.

This committee will incorporate five members from the affected families, according to the governor.
