Emir Of Kano Urges Traders: Slash Food Prices For Ramadan Sake

In a bid to ensure that the upcoming Ramadan season is more manageable for the masses, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado-Bayero, has made a heartfelt plea to traders to reduce the prices of essential food items.

During the launch of a book titled “Kingdoms in Hausaland” authored by Prof. Sa’idu-Mohammed Gusau, the royal father emphasized the importance of easing the financial burden on the less fortunate during the holy month.

Alhaji Aminu Ado-Bayero stressed the significance of charity and support from wealthy individuals to assist those in need during Ramadan. He offered prayers for the protection and good health of all Muslims as they observe the sacred period, hoping that their prayers and sacrifices would be accepted by the Almighty.

In a related development, the Jigawa state government recently took proactive steps to alleviate economic challenges during Ramadan. On February 28, the state executive council approved the procurement of 27,000 bags of rice and 10,800 cartons of spaghetti for distribution to residents.

The Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, Sagir Musa, revealed that the decision was made to provide palliative support to residents during the fasting period. This initiative aims to ensure that families across the state have access to essential food items without facing financial strain.

With the combined efforts of community leaders like the Emir of Kano and proactive measures from state governments, there is hope for a Ramadan season marked by compassion, generosity, and solidarity among all Nigerians.
