This recent attack on the power line, coming swiftly after a previous case of vandalism reported by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), exacerbates the power crisis in the nation’s capital.

In a statement released on Sunday, TCN revealed that the vandalism will impact electricity supply for customers under the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, affecting various feeders and areas within the FCT.

This incident marks the fifth act of vandalism between February and March, highlighting the severity of the issue. TCN engineers, upon investigation, confirmed the vandalization of the transmission line and theft of conductors, necessitating immediate efforts for conductor replacement.

The statement underscored the critical need for collective action to safeguard the nation’s transmission infrastructure, urging relevant security agencies and host communities to collaborate in apprehending the perpetrators.
