In a statement issued by the Assistant Director of Press and Public Relations for NYSC Oyo State, Ms. Christy Olatoye, it was clarified that Amotekun was not listed as an employer in the NYSC database.

While acknowledging the significance of the Western Nigeria Security Network, popularly known as “Amotekun,” Olatoye emphasized that no official posting letter from NYSC Oyo State reflected such deployment.

She reiterated the NYSC’s policy of deploying corps members to placements where their services would be relevant and effectively utilized. However, she affirmed that Amotekun Corps was not among the registered employers in the NYSC database, and postings were exclusively made to employers listed therein.

Olatoye cautioned against spreading false information about the NYSC, emphasizing the scheme’s noble contributions to the nation over five decades. She urged individuals not to tarnish the reputation of the NYSC with unfounded pranks, highlighting its distinguished achievements and service to the country.
