Ethnic Youth Leaders Express Support For FG’s Economic Policies

Speaking to journalists after a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Dr. George Akume, the youth leaders expressed confidence in the government’s commitment to improving the nation’s fortunes.

Alhaji Yerima Shettima, the National Leader of CNENYL and National President of Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, represented by Barrister Abubakar Kurawa, emphasized the government’s dedication to addressing inherited challenges and steering the country back on track.

According to Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide and CNENYL spokesman, the SGF outlined various initiatives undertaken by the government to alleviate economic hardships and enhance the nation’s prosperity.

Okwu highlighted positive indicators such as the appreciation of the Naira and increased external reserves, attributing these improvements to the government’s efforts. He also mentioned initiatives such as the introduction of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles to alleviate transportation burdens and the implementation of the national minimum wage.

The youth leaders pledged their support for the government’s youth empowerment programs, including the Students Loan Scheme, and called for collaboration to address security challenges.

They emphasized the importance of collective efforts from all tiers of government and urged governors and local government chairmen to complement the federal government’s initiatives in tackling poverty and hunger.

In conclusion, the CNENYL reiterated its commitment to supporting the government’s economic policies and collaborating with security agencies to maintain peace and stability in the country.
