In a recent interview with 3Music in Accra, Ghana, Duncan Mighty shared that he had been actively involved in the Niger Delta crisis, operating in the creeks of Port Harcourt. He expressed gratitude to God for repeatedly saving his life during those turbulent times.
Hailing from Port Harcourt in the South-South region of Nigeria, Duncan Mighty recounted his journey from being deeply involved in community activities aimed at protecting his people and oil interests to achieving fame in the music industry.
Despite his past involvement in militancy, Duncan Mighty highlighted that when fame eventually came his way, many people were unaware of his previous life in the creeks. He emphasized his roots, stating that he is a Port Harcourt native and not from Lagos, where many Nigerian celebrities are based.
Interestingly, Duncan Mighty also revealed his early beginnings as a drummer in the church before transitioning to secular music. He shared that he had served as the first drummer for Christ Embassy in Port Harcourt before embarking on his music career.
This candid revelation sheds light on Duncan Mighty’s remarkable journey, showcasing his resilience, transformation, and success in overcoming challenging circumstances to become one of Nigeria’s most renowned musicians.
