The Kano State Government has filed criminal charges against Ganduje, his wife, and son, accusing them of bribery totaling $413,000 and N1.38 billion. However, Ganduje dismissed these allegations as baseless and accused Governor Yusuf of orchestrating a smear campaign to distract the people of Kano from his administration’s shortcomings.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje pointed out that a recent Federal High Court ruling deemed the alleged offense as a federal matter falling under the jurisdiction of the Attorney General of the Federation and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He criticized Governor Yusuf for disregarding this legal aspect and urged him to focus on improving the welfare of Kano residents instead of engaging in political vendettas.

Ganduje emphasized that his tenure as Governor was marked by significant developmental achievements and called on his detractors to emulate his blueprint for the state’s progress.

The statement reflects Ganduje’s defiance against the corruption allegations and his determination to shift the focus back to governance issues in Kano State.
