Police Foil Plot To Incite Mayhem During Eid-el-Fitr Festival In Kano

Gumel assured the public that law enforcement agencies had taken decisive action against criminals masquerading as law-abiding citizens, with intentions to cause harm before, during, and after the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. He proudly declared Kano as the only state where no citizens are held captive by kidnappers or bandits.

“We have identified individuals hiding under the guise of the Qadiriyya Islamic sect attempting to disrupt peace. We have engaged with the sect’s leader, Sheikh Qaribullah Nasiru Kabara, who has disavowed any connection with them and authorized their arrest,” Gumel stated.

Furthermore, the police commissioner revealed that intelligence units had uncovered a separate group of politicians dissatisfied with current affairs or lacking in appointments, who were intent on sowing discord.

“I have instructed law enforcement to apprehend anyone found with weapons or attempting to instigate unrest among the populace,” he emphasized.

The Kano State Police Command remains vigilant and resolute in ensuring the safety and security of its citizens, particularly during significant cultural and religious events like the Eid-el-Fitr festival.
