Following the assembly’s decision to set up a committee to probe financial dealings and project implementation during the 2015-2023 period of Governor El-Rufai’s administration, Bello El-Rufai posted now-deleted tweets calling for a fight and criticizing the assembly’s move.

In response, the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yusuf Liman, through his spokesman Suraj Bamali, asserted that the assembly would not be cowed by such threats. Liman accused Bello El-Rufai of sending insulting and threatening messages to him via WhatsApp.

The statement emphasized the assembly’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and providing checks and balances in the state’s governance. It condemned Bello El-Rufai’s behavior as erratic and unruly, especially considering his position as a federal lawmaker.
