The panel, comprised of thirteen members, has been mandated to delve into the financial dealings, loans, grants, and project implementation spanning from 2015 to 2023. Additionally, the committee will scrutinize the activities of El-Rufai’s close associate and senior counselor on investment, Jimi Lawal.

Addressing reporters following the establishment of the committee, Liman emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to a thorough examination of the previous administration’s expenditures and loan acquisitions. He assured that the investigation would be conducted with integrity, granting every individual the freedom to provide truthful testimony.

Liman clarified that the objective of the investigation is not to discredit anyone but rather to ensure accountability and transparency in governance. He emphasized the Assembly’s determination to fulfill its legislative duties diligently, safeguarding its reputation as an independent and responsible body.
