Plateau State University Suspends Academic Activities Following Deadly Attack

Plateau State University, Bokkos, has announced the suspension of all academic activities for a period of 10 days following a tragic night attack and the unfortunate death of a 200-level Computer Science student on Friday. In a statement issued by the Registrar, Yakubu Ayuba, the university management expressed deep concern over the incident and the psychological impact it has had on both students and staff. As a result, academic activities have been halted to allow for an improvement in the security situation.

Additionally, the university management has arranged for buses to transport stranded students from the campus to Barkin Ladi. The ongoing first semester examinations have been suspended and are scheduled to resume on Thursday, May 2, 2024.

The closure of the university and the suspension of examinations are part of the management’s efforts to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of the university community.
