Tragic Accident Claims 11 Lives, Injures 16 In Kano

The collision involved a Toyota Hummer bus and a Hijet mini pickup, resulting in a head-on collision that caused both vehicles to burst into flames. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, 11 individuals lost their lives, while 16 sustained serious injuries. One person was fortunately rescued unharmed from the wreckage.
The sector commander attributed the accident to speeding and loss of control, emphasizing the importance of adhering to road safety regulations. He urged drivers to avoid breaking traffic laws, including speeding and overloading vehicles, and recommended the use of speed limit devices to prevent accidents caused by exceeding speed limits.
The injured victims were rushed to Gaya General Hospital for urgent medical treatment, while the deceased were respectfully laid to rest in a mass burial ceremony. The sector commander expressed regret over the incident and assured the public of the command’s commitment to enforcing traffic regulations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
