According to eyewitness accounts, the accident occurred around 9:55 AM, as the fully-loaded truck, en route to Ibadan, lost control while navigating the expressway.

The impact was severe, causing the truck to somersault multiple times before coming to a halt.
The collision resulted in injuries not only to the unfortunate pedestrian but also to the driver and his assistant, commonly referred to as the motorboy. Both the driver and the motorboy were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
Confirming the incident, Omolola Odutola, the state Public Relations Officer, provided further details, stating, “The driver and motorboy sustained wounds. The driver was traveling from Lagos, heading towards Lenuwa Village on the Motorway, towards the Ibadan corridor of the road. The report showed that the driver, who was believed to be speeding, lost control of the wheel and somersaulted before ramming into the deceased.”
Following the tragic collision, the injured parties were rushed to a hospital in Sagamu, where medical personnel sadly pronounced the pedestrian dead upon arrival. The deceased’s body has since been retrieved and deposited at an Idera hospital mortuary, marking a somber conclusion to a devastating accident on the busy expressway.
