Kamalu’s departure, revealed by Channels TV, unfolded through a letter addressed to the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Tammy Danagogo, rejecting his reassignment from the Finance Ministry to the Ministry of Employment Generation and Economic Empowerment.

Citing the persistent lack of peace in Rivers State despite the peace accord brokered by President Bola Tinubu in December, Kamalu expressed his inability to function optimally within an environment fraught with discord.

Governor Fubara recently undertook a minor reshuffle in the State’s cabinet, relocating Adangor to the Ministry of Special Duties (Governor’s Office) and Kamalu to the Ministry of Employment Generation and Economic Empowerment.

This reshuffle comes amidst ongoing political unrest within the State. Adangor and Kamalu are among nine commissioners who had previously resigned from Fubara’s cabinet amidst the political upheaval gripping Rivers State.
