VGC Chairman Discovered Dead In Car In Lagos

Reportedly, Mbelu was discovered unconscious inside his C300 4Matic car at approximately 10:10 am on Friday, April 26, 2024, near the vicinity of VGC. Concern arose when individuals noticed his vehicle had been running for an extended period in the same spot.

Upon closer inspection, Mbelu was found unresponsive within the vehicle. Despite attempts by onlookers to rouse him, their efforts proved futile. Subsequently, Mbelu was swiftly transported to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed his passing.

Mbelu’s remains were then transferred to the hospital’s morgue, while the incident was promptly reported to the authorities for investigation into the circumstances surrounding his demise.

Prior to his passing, Mbelu was married to Eloho, a tech entrepreneur and former investment banker, with whom he shared two daughters.

In response to inquiries, Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, affirmed the incident, noting that investigations are underway to shed light on the events leading to Mbelu’s tragic demise
