The poll findings reveal that a majority of Americans view Trump’s previous presidential term as successful, while a significant portion regard Biden’s current presidency as a failure.

In a head-to-head matchup, Trump maintains steady support among registered voters at 49%, unchanged from the previous CNN poll in January. Biden’s support stands at 43%, showing only a slight shift from January’s 45%.

According to the poll, 55% of Americans perceive Trump’s presidency as successful, marking a notable increase from January 2021 when only 44% viewed it positively. Conversely, 61% believe Biden’s presidency thus far has been a failure, a slight deterioration from January 2022’s 57% assessment.

The poll highlights a partisan divide, with Republicans more unified in their support for Trump’s presidency compared to Democrats’ assessment of Biden’s tenure. Notably, 92% of Republicans view Trump’s presidency as successful, while only 73% of Democrats consider Biden’s presidency a success. Among independents, 51% regard Trump’s presidency as successful, while only 37% see Biden’s as a success.

Regarding specific policy areas, the poll reveals mixed opinions. While 45% approve of Biden’s handling of health care policy and 44% approve of his approach to student loan debt, his management of the conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza receives low approval ratings, particularly among younger demographics and Democrats.

Economically, a significant majority of Americans, 70%, perceive the current economic conditions as poor. Interestingly, many Republicans express that their views on the economy are more influenced by political shifts rather than actual economic changes.

The inclusion of independent candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West, along with Green Party candidate Jill Stein, in the poll’s matchup results in Trump leading with 42% to Biden’s 33%, with Kennedy at 16%, West at 4%, and Stein at 3%.
