According to market information obtained by Ireporter Online, the Nigerian currency continued to trade against the United States dollar at varying rates across the parallel market and the official foreign exchange window.

Findings from Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in Lagos indicated that, as of Monday, June 29, 2026, the dollar exchanged at ₦1,400 for selling and ₦1,387 for buying in the parallel market, commonly referred to as the black market or Aboki FX.

At the official market, data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed the dollar traded within a range of ₦1,377 to ₦1,390.

The apex bank has consistently maintained that it does not recognise the parallel market for foreign exchange transactions and has advised individuals and businesses seeking foreign currency to conduct such transactions through authorised financial institutions and licensed banks.

Market observers also noted that exchange rates may differ across locations and dealers, as forex prices are influenced by prevailing market conditions and demand at the point of transaction.
